       ADULT BIBLE STUDIES –

“God’s word gives strength to live each day”

Challenge of Islam Part 2:   Weeks of January 14 – February 18 – we will continue our study of Islam that we began in January of 2017.

The three phases of jihad or Muslim "holy war" are fully discussed in this study. As taught in the Qur'an, jihad is a three-stage process describing how Islam is to be advanced throughout the world. Whether expressed as peaceful co-existence, a defensive stance, or an offensive posture, the level of jihad depends on the prevailing social and political milieu Muslims find themselves in.

We will learn how society might be altered if non-Muslims' conduct and beliefs were subjugated to the tenets and practice of Islam. Christians are offered encouragement and talking points when encountering Muslims on faith issues and sharing the hope they have in Christ Jesus.

Christ in The Passover – Feb. 25 - Passover celebrates how God protected his people, during the plague of death of the first-born son. We will learn more about how this is celebrated every year in the Seder meal, and what it means for Christians.   We are hoping to celebrate a Seder here at St. Paul on Maundy Thursday (March 29) and are looking for a person(s) to coordinate this special event.

How to get through what you’re going through – Mar. 4 – Apr. 22 – Loss is inevitable. Bad things happen. Death. Divorce. Cancer. Loss of job and/or income. We all yearn to understand why. This study, by Pastor Rick Warren, who is no stranger to grief, leads us through Scripture, finding peace and God’s comfort.

Journey from Unbelief to Faith – April 29 – May 20 - Each week we will view a video about a person who lived a life without hope until they found a God who loved them unconditionally. The persistence of the Holy Spirit's work in their lives brought an eternal transformation.
